Corruption In Famous Last Word Essay Example For Students

Defilement In Famous Last Word Essay War is a horrendous encounter aggravated by the individuals who attempt to control it for their own bit of leeway. In Famous Last Words, Timothy Findley makes a universe of interest as he depicts the stories of scheme and defilement for global control. That aggravated World War II far than it in any case would have been. This is appeared through the connections of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Joachim von Ribbentrop, and Benito Mussolini. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor are conspicuous individuals in the public eye, who need more force. The individuals in the Dukes union welcomed Mr. Coty to join the coalition on the grounds that, in the Dukes words, From time to time, Monsieur Coty and his companions are helpful to us. (141) Although the Duke despises this man, he professes to like him since he needs this man all together for his own egotistical plans to work. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor utilize their own partnership to pick up initiative over the individuals in Europe, and genuinely accepting they are the correct pioneers. The Duke says Europe needs, #8230;a new sort of leadersomeone like a banner, whose very nearness makes us rise. Not a Mussolini, of who we are apprehensive. Not a Hitler who drives us to our feet. In any case, an insignia whose attraction pulls us upward. (180) The Duke considers himself to be as a rule all the more remarkable and powerful, to a greater extent a pioneer, than either Hitler or Mussolini. He looks at his expected initiative to that of a countrys banner somebody individuals will regard and appreciate. He genuinely accepts he can be their new pioneer and worships himself. The Duke and Duchess gangs numerous insider facts. Findley clarifies how, #8230;an specialist of Churchills was playing on Davids Dukes intoxication to find how profound his conspiracy ran. (198) The Duke has gotten manipulative in his plans and individuals need to realize what he intends to do straightaway. In this way, the Duke of Windsor was exceptionally manipulative and made a union where numerous privileged insights were kept and where the main advantage of the war and collusion was all his own. Joachim von Ribbentrop is one of Hitlers laborers and whom Hitler has a lot of trust in. He makes his own collusion to guarantee that he will rule the world. He couldn't care less what he needs to do to complete things his way. Von Ribbentrop clarifies the significance of his coalition and how it will be the implies that he will pick up the mastery he needs. One of Ribbentrops men representing him says, .#8230; you bring all the best individuals in that all the best individuals in that arrange you can discover, and once you have done that-you start to make your own reality. (137) Von Ribbentrop plainly uncovers his narrow minded ways, in how everybody he connects with is for the benefit of himself and his plans for global control. Von Ribbentrop is an extremely narrow minded man who is paying special mind to his own security and advantage at others cost. You should consistently recollect what it is we want#8230;.and that a few of us must fall before we can have it, (263) he says, str aightforwardly conceding he is set up to let others succumb to his very own benefit. He needs Schellenberg to unite with him. Von Ribbentrop says to Schellenberg, #8230;I figure you and I may do very well together whatever it is youre attempting to do alone. Such a large number of plots are astir. We live in a universe of interest. One must be mindful so as not to become involved with the curls of somebody elses destruction. (322) Von Ribbentrop realizes that both of them together can be extremely fruitful and that they should be certain not to get blended in with an inappropriate partnerships which will cut them down. A scheming man, von Ribbentrop claims to think about others however is especially in the game for himself. .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .postImageUrl , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .focused content region { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:hover , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:visited , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:active { border:0!important; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-change: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; mistiness: 1; change: murkiness 250ms; webkit-progress: haziness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:active , .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:hover { darkness: 1; progress: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: murkiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .focused content territory { width: 100%; position: r elative; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-embellishment: underline; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; text style weight: striking; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt span: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-enhancement: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: supreme; right: 0; top: 0; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888 b047fb8c3d7a4d1b .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u9a22e434c3a4d888b047fb8c3d7a4d1b:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Titanic Essay PaperJoachim von Ribbentrop needs without question so to win and is happy to do whatever fundamental so he isn't gotten some answers concerning. Ribbentrop arranged ordinarily with Isabella Loverso, yet later in the novel she says she needs to leave. Ribbentrop apprehensive she may uncover his arrangements, executes her. He says, ;#8230;within two days or three at the exceptionally most, Isabella Loverso would have revealed to Schellenberg everything there is to know. Blast. It would all be finished. (263) He slaughtered Isabellla in light of the fact that she was a danger to him, so he did whatever important to guar antee she was unable to hurt him. (236) He understands Hitler has the force wherein he needs so he intends to execute him and exploit the circumstance. Taking everything into account, von Ribbentrop scans for approaches to bring others down for his very own benefit. Benito Mussolini was a significant character in World War II who was both dreaded and appreciated. Findley composes of him, What had been a mutual perfect turned into a solitary man; a divine being. (160) Mussolini had started to assume control over pieces of Europe and was a pioneer and a divine being to his devotees. At the point when two men, Matteoti and Isabellas spouse, start to expound on their pioneer and reveal the certainties about him, Mussolini had his men murder them both. Isabella says, I am considering how it very well may be that unimportant people, can be so scared of the composed word they will murder to be freed of it. (166) Mussolini is so degenerate and hungry for power that once somebody addresses him, or realizes a lot about his arrangements they are executed. Mussolini needed to alter Europe and be its pioneer so he made his own association, which worked furtively to pick up force and control. C++ vs Java The Best Ever Comparison From Experts

C++ vs Java The Best Ever Comparison From Experts For the programming students, it is always overwhelming for them to differentiate between C++ vs Java. The reason is C++ and Java have lots of similarities. The significant similarities between them is both are object-oriented programming languages. But still, both of these are entirely different languages then each other. It was developed for application and system development. On the other hand, Java was initially developed for printing systems. But later on, it was developed to support cloud computing. The best part of Java is it. It is built upon the virtual machine. Thats why the programming written in Java is highly secure and portable. In the early days of C++, it was known as C with classes. C++ is the object-oriented programming language. It was developed at AtT Bell Labs by Bjarne Stroustrup in the year 1980. You can code the C language code in an object-oriented style in C++. It was renamed C++ in the year 1983. It can compile 99% of C code without making changes in the source code. C++ is more secure than C. Introduction to Java language? Java is one of the most popular programming languages in the world. It was developed in the year 1991 by Sun Microsystems. It was developed by the small team known as the Green team at Sun Microsystem. The first name of Java was OAK. As I have mentioned earlier, it was initially developed for handling devices and set-top boxes. Oak name didnt get popular at that time. Thus, they decided to rename the Oak to Java in the year 1996. After a long time, Sun Microsystems acquired by Oracle in the year 2009. Therefore Java is now the product of Oracle.Get Started with the comparison between C++ vs Java:- C++ vs Java Relationship There is no strict relationship in C++. It means that you do not need to care more about the class name and the file names. The class declaration totally depends on the header file in C++. On the other hand, there is a strict relationship between the filename and the class name in Java. If you want to use the Payroll class in Java, then your source code needs to be in PayRoll.java. Otherwise, your program will not compile in Java. Input and outputs C++ uses the I/O statements. It is located in the IOstream.h file. These statements are cin and cout, e.g. cinx; couty; On the other hand, Java is having the most complex input mechanism because it reads one byte at a time. The input mechanism uses the (System.in), But the output is quite easy i.e., with (System.out). E.g. System.out.println(a); Compiler and Interpreter C++ only supports the compiler. On the other hand, Java support both the compiler and interpreter. Access control and object protection C++ offers a flexible model where the constant protection available. On the other hand, Java has the cucumber some model, which offers weak encapsulation. Flexibility C++ code writes once and can be compiled anywhere. But you cant run it anywhere. On the other hand, the Java program is written once and can be run anywhere. Root hierarchy There is no root hierarchy in C++. The reason is C++ supports both procedural and object-oriented programming features. There it is also known as the hybrid language. On the other hand, Java is an object-oriented programming language; thus, it supports the root hierarchy. Portability The C++ code is not portable. If you want to run it on another machine, then you need to compile it for each platform. On the other hand, Java code is portable because it translates the code into bytecode. The bycode is accessible on any platform. Unique Feature C++ offers the destructors feature that is used to destructor the value of the data type in the program. On the other hand, Java provides an automatic garbage collection feature to collect garbage values. Multiple inheritance C++ offer the multiple inheritance feature. Multiple inheritance often creates problems. To overcome this problem, C++ offers the keyword virtual feature. On the other hand, Java doesnt support multiple inheritance feature. Try and Catch It is impossible to include the try/ catch function in C++ even if the function throws an exception. On the other hand, exception handling is different in Java. Java doesnt offer the destructors; thus, you need to define the try and catch within the function. Supporting Method C++ offers both methods, i.e., the operator overloading methods and overloading methods. On the other hand, Java only supports the overloading method. It doesnt support operator overloading method. Run Time Error In C++, the programmer is responsible for the run time error. In other words, if the program stop running due to the run time error, then the programmer needs to find out the error. On the other hand, in Java, the system is responsible for checking the runtime error in the program. Pointer, Structure, Union C++ supports pointer to allocate the location of the data type. It also supports the structure and union to use different types of data set in a single program. On the other hand, Java doesnt support any of these, and it has different functionality to use these functions. Documentation Comment You cant do documentation commenting in C++. On the other hand, it is quite easy to do documentation comments in Java using (/**..*/). Thread Support C++ doesnt support the inbuilt thread support. If you want to do threading in C++, then you need to use the threading libraries. On the other hand, Java has built-in thread support with the class thread. And then override the run method. Memory Management In C++, you have to manage the memory manually. There is no memory management in C++. You can do memory management in C++ using memory allocate and deallocate with the help of a new/delete operator. On the other hand, Java has built-in memory management that is system-controlled. Real-life uses Uses of C++ Operating Systems C++ is a fast and robust language. It makes C++ ideal for developing operating systems. Apart from that, you can also develop low-level languages using C++ with the help of its system-level functions. Some of the parts of Mac OS also written in C++. Apple is still using C++ for hardware-level programming in its devices. Microsoft has developed most of its software in C++ i.e., Windows 95, ME, 98; XP. Apart from that, Visual studio and Internet explorer also developed in C++. Browsers The browser totally depends on its rendering process. The rendering engine has to be faster to give an unmatched experience to the users while browsing the internet on the browser. C++ is one of the fastest languages in the world, thats why most of the browsers renders are written in C++. For Example. Firefox and Google Chrome. Advanced Computation And Graphics C++ is widely used to program a high-end application that requires high performance. We use it for image processing, real-time simulation, and mobile sensor applications. It is also quite handy to develop a gaming console. Most of the gaming consoles have been developed in C++. Compilers All programming languages depend on the compiler. And almost every language compilers are written in C++. The reason is C++ allows you to code that may close to the hardware. Thus the program written in C++ can utilize the hardware resources more efficiently. Embedded Systems As we have discussed earlier that C++ is used to do hardware-level coding. Most of the embedded systems like Various embedded systems like smartwatches, medical equipment systems are written in C++ Real-Life Use of Java Desktop Applications Java is a widely popular language to create a desktop application. Even more than 75% of desktop applications are written in Java. Java offers the GUI interface, which is quite handy to develop desktop applications. For this, you can use AWT, Swing, and JavaFX in Java. Business Applications Most of the business use the server-based application. Java is one of the best programming languages to develop a server-based application. Thats the reason most of the companies use the software that is developed in Java. Java is quite easy to use, and there is no use of pointers. In most of the sectors, Java used in both the front end and the back end. Web-based Applications We also use Java to create web-based applications. Java is the best language to develop web applications because it provides Servlets, Struts, or JSPs to build the best applications. These technologies help us to create any web application. Apart from that, Java is also offering the applets which work on the webpage on the client-side. Scientific Applications Java is a robust programming language; that is why most of the software developers like to use it. They are using it to write scientific calculations and math operation based applications. These kinds of applications require additional logic. We can easily develop these kinds of apps, Java. These kinds of apps need low maintenance but high portability. Matlab uses Java to interact with its user interface. Big Data Technologies Big Data technologies are getting popular with every growing year. It is the technology that is used to analyze the data and systematically extract data from various sources. In other words, it is the process to convert the most complex data collected from different sources to understandable form. Java is considering the future of Big Data technologies. One of the major frameworks used with Big Data is Hadoop. And Hadoop is written in Java. Java is offering the feature to establish the data in no time. Apart from that, its trash gathering and memory management feature making it the best choice for Big Data. Nowadays, more opportunities for Java developers are emerging in Big Data technologies. Hadoop developers are high in demand. Conclusion ( C++ vs Java ) A comparison between Java vs C++ now comes to its end. We have seen that C++ and Java is having lots of similarities like they are having almost the same loops, conditional statements, if-else statements, classes, and the objects. It seems to be the same for the students while they learn these languages from scratch. But as we discussed above, there are some differences between C++ vs Java. Some of the significant differences are pointers, memory management, scope resolution operator, etc. But when we talk about the real-life uses of C++ and Java, then there is a massive difference between these programming languages. We use C++ for the programming of embedded devices. In other words, most of the time, C++ is used to do a one-time programming code. Such as code in your washing machine, Microwaves, television, setup boxes, and so on. On the other hand, Java is not used for one-time programming. Java code is used in those applications which can be further developed or upgrade as per the requirements and the needs. Sorry, that I forget to explain the career scope, most of the students think that C++ is becoming absolute. But it is not true because until we use the embedded devices, C++ will never get absolute. Most of the MNC is offering high packages for C++ developers. On the other hand, as I mentioned that Java developers are also getting the job in Big data technologies. Java also has a brilliant scope. It will remain one of the most popular languages over the next decade. Get the best C++ programming help from the experts at a nominal charge. Summary and Critique of The Gift of Sex Essay - 3607 Words

A Book Review of The Gift of Sex University Abstract This paper is a summary of the book The Gift of Sex along with my responses for each section in the book. Along with the physical aspect of sex, there is a spiritual aspect of sex, which is mostly neglected by todays culture and even by Christians. The authors believe that sex is also a spiritual and emotional act, involving the total person, the body, soul and spirit. There is a connection with the sexual relationship of a husband and his wife, and the intimate relationship of God and man. Revelation of this reality would bring freedom and fulfillment in God and in marriage. There are many aspects to a sexual relationship between a husband and wife,†¦show more content†¦Scriptures such as Jeremiah 7:9, 23:10; Isaiah 62:5; and the entire book of Hosea reveal that the relationship of God and His people is compared to a marriage relationship. The symbolism of the bride and groom is depicted in the New Testament in scriptures such as Ephesians 5 and Revelation 19:6-7. The autho rs believe that sex is not just for unity and procreation, but also for pleasure in the marriage relationship. The Song of Songs is poetry of the erotic relationship between a man and his wife, which is filled with passionate feelings. Christ has broken down the barriers between men and women, and therefore they do not have to live by different standards of sexual pleasure any longer. Men and women are equal in terms of value, ability, and position before God. Therefore, both husband and wife are commanded to give themselves to each other in marriage, with love being the guiding principle for sexual behavior. Penner and Penner (2003) believe that, it is important for Christian couples to understand the Bibles pro-sex message (Kindle Location 425). I agree that sexuality reflects an aspect of the image of God in us and I believe that the church should openly speak out about the biblical perspective of the gift of sex. The concept of marriage is portrayed in the relationship the churc h has with Christ. God desires an intimate relationship with each one of us; one that reflects the depth of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Does the possession of knowledge carry ethical responsibility Essay Example For Students

Does the possession of knowledge carry ethical responsibility? Essay Is there an ethical responsibility to report instances such as murders, or is the burden not on their shoulders because they did not actually commit the crime? The individuals may or may not be responsible for acting on the knowledge, which they possess. Ethical responsibility involves the decision one must make based off of moral values, personal instincts and senses. Any individual, with the possession of knowledge, who is faced with a situation where a decision must be made is forced to weigh the possible consequences and outcomes of their actions and choices. Depending on the individual and the extent to which they posses knowledge or have experience, the degree to which most will consider the ethical implications of the action will vary. Thus, the number of people within the situation will affect the individual’s perception within that scenario. It is not possessing knowledge in general, but instead it is certain information they know that will have an effect on someone or a situation if disclosed. Humans, both male and female, find it challenging to make a decision, and face challenges when deciphering right from wrong when decision making, even if they are certain that they were wrong. However, the possession of knowledge does in fact carry an ethical responsibility for various reasons. For instance, when one witnesses a murder or observes a crime occurring, the individual must decide whether they you are going to be ethically responsible and reveal the information, potentially putting yourself in a dangerous position, or, keeping the information to yourself, meaning you will not help the victim. There is conflict present in both of these circumstances, which allows one to ask, is it worth it to put yourself in a position, which could change your entire life? Unfortunately, many have adapted to an unequal and unfair society because those who posses knowledge choose to be ethically irresponsible and make a wrong judgment, often because it will benefit themselves. For instance, my cousin recently got in a car accident, and was aware that it was his fault. However, the other driver believed it was their fault. Because my cousin possess knowledge and was certain that the accident was his fault, should he have or not have an ethical responsibility to report himself? He ended up reporting himself, because he was aware that it was ethically irresponsible for him to let the other driver take the blame and simply unfair. In addition, the other driver and my cousin worked out a fair deal without the involvement of police. Not only did my cousin learn from this experience, but as a new driver, I learned from him from this experience, since doing the right thing, or making the more ethically responsible decision is always the most beneficial, especially in a serious circumstance such as a car accident. To conclude, there is definitely a decision to be made in every situation but the focus should be more on do they have an ethical responsibility to report instances such as murders, or is the burden not on their shoulders because they did not actually commit the crime? The individuals may or may not be responsible for acting on the knowledge, which they possess. Obviously if you can help someone out you should be reporting what you witness, but with the car, it negatively affects you to make the ethical choice. In addition, emotion as a way of knowing can directly affect the decision one will make based off of their ethical responsibility. Every individual possesses emotion, and emotion is impacted by feelings, which will directly influence a choice of decision.

The changing role of hr management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The changing role of hr management - Essay Example Starbucks and Southwest Airlines are the perfect examples of such companies, where globalization and change in business trends have modified the traditional roles of HR management. Let us discuss how each of these factors affects the role of HR management in the 21st century. Globalization â€Å"Globalization is said to bring people of all nations closer together, especially through a common medium like the economy or the Internet† (Ellis-Christensen, 2011). Globalization has opened new dimensions and areas of consideration for the HR managers of the today’s world. Globalization has put a significant impact on the role of HR management in the success of a company. Today, any company or organization wants to expand its business to the international world in order to increase productivity and profitability, and when a company plans to go global, the management of that company needs to consider many important factors related to business, such as, different cultures, langua ges, social behaviors, and employment and government laws. The role of HR management changes when a company plans to operate the business in foreign countries. ... treme importance to the understanding of international cultures and languages because it plays a critical role in the international success of multinational companies. Another important factor to which today’s HR managers give extreme importance is international employment laws. When a company goes global, the management needs to consider international employment laws while setting up employment plans for the international employees. Technology The advancement in the field of technology has led the focus of HR managers towards hiring highly technical employees for the companies. When a company starts making use of new and latest technology for running any specific business activity, such as, manufacturing, it needs to hire such employees who should be skilled in using that technology. Today, HR managers prefer highly skilled and technical candidates as compared to such candidates who are although high qualified but not skilled enough to make use of technology. Moreover, inform ation technology has also played a role in changing the role of HR management in the today’s business world. Information technology provides managers with such software products and applications, which not only assist them in doing performance appraisal but also helps in improving the overall human resource management. In the past, keeping record of large-scale human resources was not an easy task (Rankonda, 2010). The human resource management system (HRMS) is an example of information technology, which not only assists human resource managers in keeping large records but also helps them in carrying out many tasks, such as, keeping attendance, labor distribution, automated record keeping, and many other tasks. What did my experience when I first went abroad or visited a different Essay

What did my experience when I first went abroad or visited a different culture than my own How did I overcome the cultural differences - Essay Example The plane trip was uneventful. When I arrived at the Vienna airport however I began to have a bit of culture shock. Everything was written in German—not in Russian! I heard lots of people around me speaking a language I didn’t understand. I went to a shop to buy some food and I could see all the magazines were different and there were many different types of food available that weren’t available in Russia. When I walked out of the airport I was surprised to see that the temperature was much warmer than it was in Russia. I wouldn’t be needing all the winter gear I had brought with me from Russia. I got in a taxi and explained that I wanted to go to a hotel in the downtown part of Vienna. It took quite awhile for the driver to understand what I wanted: communication with people was difficult. As we drove down the streets I noticed that there were many different models of cars on the streets. Many people had more expensive cars than they did in Russia, for ex ample. As I got to know Vienna over the next few days I realized it was a city of wonderful architecture and very friendly people. I was amazed at how clean the streets were and how green the parks were. A big difference was the quality of life of pensioners. In Russia many are very poor, but in Austria I could see they were well taken care of. Generally, people seemed to be happy and kind. I began to realize that I had been nervous about nothing. How did I deal with all of this? In the end I found my trip to be very enjoyable. In the beginning I had been nervous and unsure, but I made sure to keep an open mind. I was curious about Austria and I wanted to learn more. I didn’t necessarily think my own country was better—I wanted to learn. By keeping an open mind while traveling it is easier to adapt to a foreign

Human Trafficking Human Smuggling

Human Trafficking Human Smuggling Nearly all countries in the world face the challenge of human trafficking and human smuggling whether as a country of transit, origin or destinations for the victims (Jac-Kucharski, 2012). Human trafficking and human smuggling have become a global problem of recent. The investigative agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approximated that 600000 to 800000 people are trafficked and smuggled annually across the international borders (Department of State, 2006). Additionally; the estimation shows that a significant number of people are trafficked and smuggled within the boundaries of their country. The United States is the final destination country for the trafficked, according to the US Department of State (Department of State, 2006). There are various reasons why people carry out human trafficking and human smuggling. Some of the reasons include labor and sexual exploitation among others (Tena, 2010). Most of the victims are enticed with false promises from their homes and instead enforced into activities such as prostitution, forced labor and domestic servitude to name but a few (Jac- Kucharski, 2012). Additionally, politicians have become part and parcel in the discussion of such activities as a result of the nature of the phenomenon (Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 2013). The non-profit organization and government agencies have had the responsibility to deal with the victims of such actions. Due to the similarities between the two crimes, both have been confused by the public. What are the differences between human trafficking and human smuggling? What are the measures taken by DHS to stop or mitigate both crimes? Differences between human trafficking and human smuggling Human trafficking and human smuggling are different activities in the United States, and these terms cannot be interchanged. Human trafficking is a grave human rights violation and a serious crime that revolves around exploitation of people. Human trafficking can be defined as sex trafficking in the sense that commercial sex activities are forcefully induced, coercion, fraud or rather a state in which the victims who are forcibly persuaded in such acts are below 18-years old (Jakobsson Kotsadam, 2013). Additionally, it can be defined as harboring, recruiting, transporting, providing or obtaining an individual for hard labor activities forcefully, or through fraud or coercion for objection to involuntary slavery, debt bondage or peonage (Tripp Mcmahon, 2016). On the other hand, human smuggling revolves around the transportation of people and can be defined as the act of importing individuals into a country through careful avoidance of immigration laws (Jac-Kucharski, 2012). Such activities include importing illegal aliens into the country and harboring unlawful aliens illegally in the country. Moreover, in some situations, smuggling may involve rape, murder or assault either sexually of physically (Department of State, 2006). Measures established by the Department of Homeland Security to stop or mitigate both crimes The investigative agencies in the Department of Homeland Security in the United States which are responsible for curbing human smuggling and human trafficking include the Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Immigration (Tena, 2010). The ICE cooperates within its law implementation partners in fighting the global infrastructure that is involved in human trafficking and smuggling (ICE, 2013). The ICE achieves this mission by using its experts and authorities, disrobing away profit incentives and assets, cooperating with foreign partners and the United States for the purpose of attacking worldwide network as well as working with global non-governmental organizations for the identification, rescuing and providing assistance to the smuggling victims. The ICE agency has embarked on the determined strategy in fighting human smuggling and trafficking. For instance, the ICE is pursuing investigations which are intelligence-driven for the purpose of targeting large-scale human smuggling organizations irrespective of their location of operations (ICE, 2013). There is specifically located emphasis on the smuggling rings that helps in posing the risk of the national security, threaten lives and engage in violence, extortion, hostage-taking, and abuse. Additionally, there is proper coordination between the ICE and partners at U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the purpose of ensuring hostile investigations and prosecution of the smuggling cases along the country borders. Moreover, the ICE is targeting all the links that are associated with smuggling activities past the direct smugglers (ICE, 2014). Precisely, the ICE aims at targeting the foreign organizers and recruiters, the fake document dealers and transportation, and employment networks who gain from the alien smuggling in the United States. Besides, the ICE aims at pursuing the legislation to raise the penalties beside organized smugglers and offer further criminal offenses to ensure enhancement of discoursing spotters who help criminals in smuggling aliens and contraband (ICE, 2014). The ICE discovered that for successful investigations and prosecuting traffickers, the victims must be steady and free from intimidation and fear to be real witnesses (Tena, 2010). There is equality in the placement of value on the identification and the salvage of victims and the traffickers prosecution. The ICE has many security duty victims or witnesss coordinators who cooperate with the NGOs for the purpose of providing victim services (Tripp Mcmahon, 2016). Moreover, the short-term immigration relief is given to the certified trafficking victims in continued presence status form. The ICE has developed practical initiatives that aim at criticizing the infrastructure that provides support to the smuggling organizations and the assets acquired from the criminal activities. Such activities include snatching vehicles, goods, currency and armaments among others (ICE, 2014). This initiative has played a significant role in fighting human trafficking and smuggling. The ICE has issued the Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act, which is one of the tools used in fighting human trafficking and smuggling, a notice to the owners of properties that have been recognized to be used in facilitating the human trafficking and smuggling aliens (Jac-Kucharski, 2012). This tool is very significant in the sense that various managers do not take into account the acceleration of criminal acts on their personal properties or the companys resources. The secretary of the Department of Homeland Security made an announcement about the proposals to the Customs Enforcement and immigration during the annual meeting. The annual meeting was held at the White House by the Presidents Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Human Trafficking (ICE, 2013). Some of the proposals made included the extension of the period of the significant immigration description for the people who are not citizens of the United States. Additionally, they would give vital constancy as well as better support to the victims of human trafficking and smuggling as they carry out further investigations of the traffickers. This is part of the victim-centered approach of the department in fighting against human trafficking. In 2010, The Department Homeland Security came up with the Blue Campaign to act as the voice of the unified Department in fighting human trafficking and smuggling (DHS, n.d). The Blue Campaign came up with a resolution that there be human trafficking awareness training in cooperated into the major training courses at the institutions such as the Federal Law Enforcing Training Centers (DHS, n.d). This could be substantial because a greater percentage of federal law enforcement agencies who participate in Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) acquire skills and tools that help in curbing the human trafficking and smuggling and respond accordingly (DHS, n.d). On a daily basis, the employees of the DHS search for the pointers and causes of human trafficking during their line of duty. Also, the employees of the ICE carry out investigations on human trafficking cases as well as providing support to the victims through the victim awareness programs (Jac-Kucharski, 2012). Besides, the employees in the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency cooperate with the airline workers to curb human trafficking through the use of the Blue Lightning Initiative (CBP, n.d). Additionally, the airline personnel together with the support of the agencies make sure that products and properties acquired through forced labor from foreign countries do not find their way in the United States supply chain. The citizenship and the Immigration agencies perform their duty of ensuring that the qualified victims of trafficking who are not citizens of the United States have accessibility to needed immigration qualifications for the trafficking victims (Jac-Kucharski, 2012). Moreover, the Blue Campaign ensures there is the empowerment of communities for the purpose of curbing human trafficking and smuggling through the formation of partnerships, coming up with public awareness, creation, and dissemination of resources and free tool which are used countrywide in curbing human trafficking and smuggling (DHS, n.d). In conclusion, human trafficking, and human smuggling is a global issue which calls for every country to participate in the fighting process. The countries should come up with more measures that can be used to do away with human trafficking and smuggling completely. For that reason, different agencies and tools should be put in place worldwide to be used in fighting human trafficking and smuggling. References Jac-Kucharski, A. (2012). My Experience as a Teenage Mother Twenty-six years have brought many changes to my home in the mountains of East Tennessee: one of the most important of these changes being the slow dissolution of what I call the ‘racial divide’. This change had just begun to take place when I found myself a frightened pregnant teenager growing up in the small community of Shell Creek in Carter County, Tennessee. It was 1977 and of the few hundred people in town, I was certain I would be the first to have a child that was half black and half white. My parents divorced when I was ten years old, so I grew up in my grandparents’ home, a place filled with love and acceptance. My grandparents had never imparted any type of prejudice, racial or otherwise to my young mind. However, I knew the Baptist church Grandma attended every Sunday warned against bi-racial relationships.. My grandparents were devout and sincere in their faith so they accepted this way of thinking. Would my family ever be able to accept this child I was carrying? I didn’t think they could at the time so I kept my secret. Telling the child’s father was out of the question as I knew he was not interested in me or our child. My pregnancy was a bi-product of youth and ignorance. The summer of 1977 passed quickly for me and the child growing inside me. I thought of the baby as a boy, although I had no idea what sex my baby was. Sometimes I wondered what he would look like. Was he smart? What would he become? Mostly I wondered how my family would react to him. How in the world was I going to raise a child alone? Being only sixteen, I was still a child myself. I knew I had only a few months to discover an answer to my question. By late fall I was b... ...nge. As she removed the tiny diaper, I saw what appeared to be a large bruise on the little boy’s bottom. My heart raced and I saw red in both eyes. â€Å"What have you done to my baby?† I screamed loud enough to wake the exhausted woman sharing my room. I lifted my sore body from the bed with angry force.† Where did he get that bruise?† I demanded. The startled nurse looked at me like I was insane. â€Å"That’s a Mongolian spot, very common in mixed babies,† she explained. â€Å"It’s not a big deal. I promise no one has hurt him.† At that moment I knew I loved the little boy like I’d never loved before. I would protect him with my life, giving him all the love in my heart. I had to figure out how to be the mother he deserved. Logan and I left the hospital together the next morning. Logan is in Iraq fighting for freedom and I came home to the mountains I love.

Like Arnold, I recognize a challenge in trying to view problems in a new way and developing new perspectives and strategies for problems. Also, that though there are technical or operational requirements that need to be taken into consideration they should not be viewed as limitations. Unlike Arnold however, there is still a lot to be developed in my mentoring or coaching skills. Most likely, this aptitude can be further developed as I gain more experience and work with more people. Malcolm Frank. In what way is Malcolm effective? Malcolm Frank effectivity comes from the fact that he is capable as an executive as well as managing other executives. In his interview, he points out that the challenge of working with brilliant people is how to be able to channels their skills and experience productively and how to manage and resolve conflicts What could he do better? He can be more directly involved in building relationships with the various stakeholders of the company to be able to asses their perceptions on the directions of the industry and in general, the economy. This will allow him the context needed to examine scenarios that the company will face. Similar to Arnold, he has also recognized the need to build these relationships personally as reflected in his own priorities and schedule. What aspect of his management style do you think contribute to his effectiveness or ineffectiveness? The most critical to Frank’s effectiveness is his confidence in the organization and its executives without being threatened or having reservation in directing them to the company’s objectives. In doing so, he is able to develop an atmosphere that maximizes the skills and potentials of the organization, highlighting the importance cooperation and organizational development and effectiveness. Is his style well-suited to the current situation at NerveWire? In what other situations might it be effective? In what situations would it be ineffective? However, this success is because Frank manages and organization that has positive sense of competition and strong organizational relationship. For NerveWire and similar organizations where there is high level of pressure and a significant collection of assertive and creative people, this is an essential skill to maintain the cohesiveness and cooperation of a group. In what way is your own style like Malcolm and in what way is your style different? Like Frank, I recognize and appreciate the need for expertise, knowledge and experience as well as an environment were can they can developed positively. In doing so, people will be able to work effectively with each other and increase the overall potential and capacity of an organization. . At the same time, I recognize that this degree of confidence in my work and managing the work of others has to still be honed by experience and training. Â

Global Genocides And The Holocaust - 1324 Words

Global Genocides Understood by Sociology It is made known that before 1944, the term â€Å"genocide† did not exist. A Polish-Jewish lawyer named Raphael Lemkin wanted to describe the acts of the Nazi policies, in regards to the mass murders of the European Jews. Using the Greek word â€Å"geno-â€Å", meaning race or tribe, as well as the Latin word â€Å"-cide† for killing, he formed the word â€Å"genocide† (History.com Staff). According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the term holocaust means, â€Å"Any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: Killing members of the group; Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; Deliberately†¦show more content†¦During the years of 1933-1945, the German Nazi regime killed around 6 million European Jews as well as others who were seen as mentally retarded or homosexual (McMorran). The Jewish people living in Europe during Hitler’s rule were discriminated against and ultimately were segregated from all other races. During the segregation of Jewish people, Adolf Hitler wanted the Jews to be physically separate from all other ethnic groups and racial groups by forcefully moving the Jews into concentration camps, keeping the Germans the dominant group in Hitler’s eyes. The social concepts and theories of prejudice, segregation and discrimination forced upon the Jewish people were seen as a result of Adolf Hitler’s stereotype about the Jewish ethnicity.
